High Level Interdisciplinary Research

HumTec is an interdisciplinary Project House at RWTH Aachen University funded by the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments. HumTec aims at fostering high level interdisciplinary research between the humanities/social sciences and the engineering/natural sciences.

Currently, the Facutly of Arts and Humanities at RWTH Aachen is creating a center of interdisciplinary Science and Technology Studies, which will initially comprise five professorships.

Thereby, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities is making an important contribution to the development of RWTH Aachen University as an integrated interdisciplinary university of technology.

During the second phase three Continuation Projects (U-Turn, WebDisk, Neuro Peirce), three Boost Fund Projects (eCosmos, IPACS, UFO) and eight Seed Fund Projects with different research topics have been specified, which are now expired.
