Online-Colloquium "Kant's Cognitive Architecture"

05/02/2021

As part of the online colloquium of the Computertational Science Studies Lab Aachen with the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart, Richard Evans from Imperial College London and Google Deep Mind will give a talk on "Kant's Cognitive Architecture".

In this talk Richard Evans will describe a machine implementation of assimilative apperception that is based on Kant’s discussion of the "synthetic unity of apperception" in the Critique of Pure Reason. In this talk, Richard Evans will not focus on the technical details of the unsupervised program synthesis system, but on the general architecture, the underlying Kantian principles that inspired the architecture, and on a diverse range of experiments which show the versatility of the approach.

The talk will be held on Thursday, February 11 from 4 - 6 pm.

Those interested can register by emailing dawid.kasprowicz@humtec.rwth-aachen.de.
