Dr. Barbara Grimpe as new HumTec Managing Director

In February 2022, Dr Barbara Grimpe started as Managing Director of the Human Technology Center.

We are pleased to introduce Dr Barbara Grimpe as the new Managing Director of HumTec.

Barbara Grimpe has obtained a PhD in Sociology from the University of Konstanz, Germany. She conducts qualitative research into a variety of domains and subdisciplines such as, Science & Technology, Cultural Sociology and Responsible Research and Innovation. For instance, she has studied 'responsible' technology design and how to conceive of institutional reflexivity as a collaborative practice. She has also investigated sociotechnical practices associated with economic processes, e.g. global microfinance investments and nation states managing their public debt.

Most recently, she worked and conducted research at the University of Klagenfurt at the Department of Science Communication and Higher Education Research. Further information on her research interests and publications can be found on her Researchgate profile.
